I actually enjoy this a lot more than h1z1, the gun play is very solid.

Also if you are running a lower spec system put these in your launch options:

-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=system -sm4 -lowmemory

-USEALLAVAILABLECORES = self explanitory
malloc=system = allows windows the manage the memory rather than the game
-sm4 = drop from dx11 to dx10
-lowmemory = uses less memory, good for anyone who has 8 gig or less

I found it easier to see peole when I turn post processing and AA ad down as far as they will go.

Been growing on me. Rounds feel much quicker than h1z1 where you end up dicking around a lot either looking for fights or hiding from them. Once the first gas stage starts on Battlegrounds you've already had a few fights and are done with looting.

The biggest gripe I have at the moment is server performance but with Aussie servers coming in the next couple of days I won't be able to use that as an excuse for long. :yellow_laugh:

The aussie servers will make the whole experience so much smoother. Should remove that annoying mini delay opening doors, picking up loot etc.

My experience so far has been solo. I played in one duo with an american guy but without me being able to speak on voice comms and him being able to, i felt bad as i was gimping him. He was killed but i killed the two guys who got him, then got one further kill down the track but most of the map was a bit quiet.

My only issue with these kinds of games is that downtime between the gas moving. This is at least not too long, but once you're looted up, you can literally just be laying prone hidden and waiting.

The gunplay feels pretty tight. Sounds of weapons firing is decent - when i hear them in the distance i know approximately where people are. I'll often move towards them and catch them leaving an area for an easy kill.

What im not hearing though is when other players are in close proximity, like in nearby or the same building. I think that local sound work of footsteps/opening doors etc needs work.

Ah right - how is that represented on the ui exactly?

What's the percentage with the stamina bar bottom left? Or is that stamina? I thought the red bulls may have had something to do with endurance.

Game is up btw, just had a round was smooth - only a bit of rubber banding...

And fuck me, i have just realised i joined the AS server...thought that was AU, there's an OC server.

Have to say that Asian server was smooth anyway - still had the door lag, now i know why!

Had a few top 10 finishes last night. Found the key to getting there is finding a hiding spot near the approximate end circle destination and going prone in some buildings corner.

Best result was 2nd but lost my shit when i saw the other guy and forgot how to aim. Really digging the firing mechanics in this - feels very natural tap tap tapping shots at long range against runners. Had so many situations where me and the enemy player are prone, cat n mouse type action. Had this situation where i had this guy peaking out from a tiny shed in the middle of nowhere, i had an AK with an 8x which made seeing him piss easy. -But then he ran out into open terrain and went prone and just disappeared. There was only basic ground cover - does the game not render you or something when you're in cover at a certain range to compensate for non rendering foilage?

*edit - oh and got a pan kill :)

I Had the worst damned fps lag in those games last night. Jerking every 2 seconds when moving almost like a fps leak from playing a few rounds prior.

That and the damned baby let crying thanks to teething.

Yeah there seems to be a memory leak, we all tend to restart the game after the third or forth round.
