My horn is real - particularly on the back of that 2nd movie trailer this morning.

I'm pretty confident this will be amazing - would prefer to see some Hoth/anywhere but Endor game footage though - hope we get that in the trailer. Cant wait to see it ffs!!

Apparently max player count is 40, no campaign, has flyable vehicles but no space battles, can toggle between first and third person, also has split screen

No or very little game play in the trailer, I mean who cares about game play it's just a game

40 is good, 48 is the perfect number in Battlefield IMO, 64 always feels too sluggish as most servers dont seem to be able to handle it properly, not to mention spammy.

God it looks hot though. if it can give the feel of being in those missions like it looks in the trailer it will be a huge hit. i really hope it isnt just a star wars skinned battlefield though.

Was super hype then I saw the 90 dollar price tag might wait a bit and see what other material comes out.

Ill have to see more before I'm sold, but battlefront was one of my fav games back in the day. Number of kills I got with the AT-ST walker was ever amusing.

I'm buying this no matter what, have been hanging out for a Star Wars BF type game from DICE for bloody years. It's always been one of my dream combos. Then again, back when I started wanting this - a good 10+ years ago lol, i liked Star Wars more than i do these days, prior to the abortive prequels etc.

I hope the gameplay is a mix between star wars and bf 2142.

As above. I have bf3 and 4 but haven't enjoyed either anywhere near the level of BC2.
I think i would be lucky to have 30 hours combined on BF3 and 4, a fraction of the hours i got out of BC2.

I actually struggle to remember which maps were BF3's, which were BF4's.

BC2's biggest strength was its Rush maps IMO. I'm really surprised they havent pushed Rush further. Rather than focusing on all of these shitty little game modes they keep developing, they should instead focus on Rush as a viable alternative to Conquest, and build some damned custom maps for it.

BC2's Rush maps were superb. The way they advanced into sometimes areas that werent in the Conquest versions, made each little push feel like a completely different scenario.

Anyway I think where BF4 is right now is in a pretty good place. I didnt like it initially. There was something about the game that just didnt work for me. It felt like it was far too easy to be killed, difficult to feel in control of your on foot gameplay. And even things like vehicles felt whack - particularly shit like anti-air being able to take out helicopters from across the entire map - even from where the AA spawned - ridiculous. But i went back to BF4 recently with the pre-Hardline hype (which i didnt end up buying), and the latency changes they've made along the way have been very good. And some of the DLC maps are likewise very strong - not unlike some of BF3's (but not all). The redone Gulf of Oman is also bloody brilliant.

BC2 was great, but i also think there's a fair bit of rose-tinted glasses loving hindsight going on there too.

I'm really hoping Battlefront is all that and more. If they can provide an authentic Star Wars experience that's firmly rooted in the original trilogy - well they'll have my money. Hell, they'll have it regardless, as i said, Dice making a Star Wars game has been a long-time dreamgame of mine. I just hope it's amazing.

.
More than just that (for me at least).

Bc2: 228 hours.
BF3: 17 hours
BF4: 6 hours

Couldn't get into 3 and 4. The paid DLC doesn't help, they are too expensive for what you get.

I dont really find a problem with the approach with bf dlc in regards to say premium, you get like 20 additional mp maps + 20+ new weapons/gadgets. Pricing them at 5 modules at the price of 4 and earlier access ensures far more player purchases compared to the old days of bf1942 or bf2 expansions that were deserted 2 weeks after they released.
If youre a casual then yeh might not be the best value, then again none of your games are then really :)
