Here is a rough timeline of things that happened :
1. Kickstarter
2. Lots of money
3. Ship models
4. Hangar module
5. Arena Commander/racing mode
6. Alpha Universe (one system with a couple planets (cant land on them yet) plenty of stations and way points to visit though). 2.6 universe should be live soon it is currently with public testers.
The Squadron 42 single player campaign is in there too but no one has ever been able to test/play that.

Ohh that's a positive step. I checked out the game a few times when it had free weekends and it always felt sluggish. Likely the latency. It's like that Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade game - it's actually pretty good, but it never doesnt feel sluggish because it's carrying a 220ish ms ping.
if you play the arena commander module instead of the persistent universe it should feel a lot better

Well the instanced multiplayer stuff like arena commander was painful in PvE and borderline unplayable in PvP so it's like actually being able to enjoy those things for the first time

Have you played it on the local servers yet? I bet it's a night and day improvement. A graphically intensive game like that with heavy latency elements (ie all the individiual ship components the servers would track) would be a slugfest on USA servers.Well the instanced multiplayer stuff like arena commander was painful in PvE and borderline unplayable in PvP so it's like actually being able to enjoy those things for the first time

I've just got my new PC up and running and gave the persistent universe a quick run on the local servers (for about 1-2minutes) and it ran a lot better. Still pretty poor FPS issues on the PU which most are claiming are network code related, but I've always been getting smooth framerates on the arena commander side. Looking forward to giving that a proper go in the next few days.

I played a little bit on the PTU and it was pretty great, however the live servers seem to be having some issues in the open world area thing, insane "latency stuttering" and the ship's lead targeting reticule spazzes out of control. Instanced stuff was fine though.

Nice i haven't seen this! Thought i had seen all the cool stuff via reddit r/starcitizen. Hopefully they can stay on track for 3.0. I am staying away from it for now as i don't want to burn out before the actual game releases like i did with prison architect.
