Horus Heresy - warhammer 40k books
Out of curiosity, have any of you guys read the book series based around the Horus Heresy?
They're basically set in the Warhammer 40k universe, tracking the division amongst the Space Marines where half of them turned to Chaos etc.
Have just finished the 5th book, Descent of Angels, which was a bit of a struggle to get through. The first few books were really damned good I thought, then 4th onwards started to show a bit of formula repeatition etc.
Keen to discuss that Descent of Angels though if anyone has read it.

What are the three Ravenor books? Details?
I reccomend checking out the first book of the Horus Heresy - Horus Rising. Books 1 2 and 3 are by three different authors, but are basically a trilogy.
The follow-ons are likewise from different authors, but overlap, telling some of the same events/lead up from different perspectives/legions etc.
They've still all been good, but its pretty obvious they're using a similar formula. The last one i read, Descent of Angels was different as it went way back, describing how the Dark Angels came to being. It's been the weakest so far imo as the author is quite average (imo), but the ending was...abrupt.
The next one in the series, called Legion, about the Alpha Legion, is again by Dan Abnett, who wrote one of the best of that original 3.
I really like reading stuff set in the 40k universe, it's refreshing.

Shit I dunno. Either the book was called the black library, or the characters went to the black library. Anyway, the books are about an inquisitor and his companions. Good read.'The black library' isnt a book as such, its the books area of games workshop, all the novels etc.

I have:
The Space Wolves Omnibus 1
The Blood Angels Omnibus
The Ultramarine Omnibus
The Soul Drinkers Omnibus (this is my favourite one of the Omnibus books)
The DoW/Blood Ravens Omnibus
The first 2 Salamander books
10 or so short story collection books.
The first 5 Horus Heresy (its a pretty awesome story, I need to grab the rest of this series.)
Book 1. Horus Rising
Book 2. False gods
Book 3. Galaxy in Flames
Book 4. Flight of the Eisenstein
Book 5. Fulgrim
I would like to see some Eldar and/or Ork books appear but so far they only seem interested in writting about the Imperium.
Stupid humies.

Book 7, Legion by Dan Abnet about the Alpha Legion is pretty damned good. It's such a massive step up in quality of writing as opposed to Descent of Angels by some random before it.
I have the whole series in a 16 mb folder, i just dont have anywhere to host it anymore as im giving Funktard the flick.
