I'm not particularly knowledgeable about the US T2 ladder but Team 5150 were certainly well known as a powerhouse on the tribes scene.

They left the T2 ladder undefeated with a 15-0 record, which wasn't a LOT of games, but was still very dominant.. in fact in those 15 games they only conceded two caps. One was in their 2nd last game (against Vanguard), although they still won the map in OT. The other was in their final TWL game, against South Eastern Slayers. This would be the only map that Team 5150 would ever lose in their Tribes 2 TWL history.

Yeah, ok, it's a HoF demo - finding anything from these matches aint easy! Hoping that having them there might draw other players from that match to share more.

I'm not sure exactly how it came about but at some point in 2008 a bunch of Americans (Darkstrand & others probably from goonhaven?) claimed they would be able to wipe the Australian's out on our own servers... so we took on the challenge and played 3 maps.

Map 1 - Dangerous Crossing - AUS Wins 8-0 (AUS server)
Cap out, shut out.

Map 2 - Beggars Run - US Wins 4-0 (US Server)
AUS hold off US from capping out with a classic Beggars Run underground turtle from Sarge.

Map 3 - Canyon Crusade Deluxe (AUS server) - This demo.

For a bit more info on this match I found this thread on bittah - couldn't find much else.
https://www.bittah.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... start=4360

There's quite a few more demos from this match which I'll convert in time.

At about 8 minutes in we're 7-1 up on this map, but the scramble for the final cap is pretty epic. I don't think CC was made with this many players in mind. So many kills on the stand denying the final match winning cap.

haha - it was interesting going back to that game and seeing what really happened. I can't believe in the end 6 grabs made the difference.
Although it wouldn't have mattered, they'd likely have found a different way to make sure USA West got through.

Marv's POV from the same map as above.
The screenshot for the video is taken as Marv is about to get the winning cap.. except that disc on the right beats him to it. Not sure if I've seen a closer cap denial than that.. his weapon is literally ahead of the stand.
Skip to 11:11 in the clip to see it.

And just cause I thought it would be funny to see it from different angles...

Here's Rigorr's POV:

Unfortunately I don't have anything from the insomniax days. I don't even know if I recorded anything back then... I really wish I did though.

I MAY convert some T1 stuff on hobbz site in the future... I may be getting the shoutcast to one of AUs matches in the Tribes 1 World Championship so that could be interesting to couple with a recording... but at the moment not really looking at doing that.

Still hard at work converting these demos... lots more on the channel.
This was a great close matchup between /X/ and AvA - I've got a recording of it from Capsican's perspective already.

I had some good fun on DBF in this 16 v 16 PUG.
Stealing remote invs right next to their generators.. hijacking a bomber.. good times and nice even teams.

Hey guys! I just randomly thought to check in here while procrastinating from dissertation writing and found myself enjoying watching some of the demos that CB and A3 have been posting. I have about 150 of my own T2 demos from various eras hanging around if anyone is interested in looking through them. Some of them are informatively labelled, but most are not.

PS: I can't figure out how to sign into my old account (pretty sure it is associated with a dead email), hence the new account.

Hobbs has hooked me up with the ftp (thanks!), so I'll get to uploading soon. Might be a bit slow, since I'm living in the UK.

I miss Tribes. :(

mojo are you playing midair? I'm in the UK too and as much as the game feels like tribes its just not the same without the same old faces. just been playing with a few random euros.

Hi Riker!

No, I'm not playing midair, Shakey. I'm not sure I had even heard of it until I checked the forums here again recently. Marv may have mentioned it when I saw him before I left Aus. I haven't really had any time for gaming since I moved here, sadly.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, CB!
