T1 Server

Hey guys,

Been awhile since i've played Tribes. Actually, almost a decade. Anyways, out of reminiscence, Combined Gaming have setup a T1 Server just for people to enjoy the good times again.

Details are 119.252.190.112:28001 for those interested.

The yankydoodles have updated the cheat protection for 1.40 to 1.41 with what they have neatly called Afterhope. I have not really looked into it, just seen it in passing. Anyway, it might be worth running on your server if the effort is minimal... otherwise wouldn't bother.

Well I forgot about last Tuesday entirely, and Korzek has volunteered to keep the server up all day every day, which for a couple of technical reasons I can't do on bittah.

Yeah keeping a T1 server up permanently is no problem. Getting a T2 one setup aswell.

Any issues let me know.

Will need to get some admins arranged for both T1 and T2 servers aswell so if you guys want any PUGs organized it can be done.

Sounds good ColonelBlair - A name I remember :p

I dont mind keeping the T1 and T2 servers up all the time but I am very busy to administrate them whilst taking care of several other Game Servers at the same time.

I'll make sure they are all up to date and good to go as well.

I was gona setup a t2 server on my amazonaws account but there's no point when latency to the Sydney cloud is the same as Los Angeles...

The ping on the servers i run will be the best available. Sydney database. I get 20-28 ping and im in queensland. Id say ppl in sydney area would be 5-15.

heya, t2 server is running classic 1.1 and i think the latest was 1.4

server had a bit of jitters. there's a bit in the tribesnext faq that says:
My server and/or game is jittery
This can usually be solved by setting the CPU affinity of the game to a single core. In the case of servers, you should set a line to setPerfCounterEnable(0); in a script loaded on startup.

Just noticed KorzeK has updated the T2 server to Classic 1.5.2, wootness.

It's the zipped version of the bittah server, so for mappack requirements and all that jazz see viewtopic.php?f=30&t=17347
