What to do with $100 google play store credit

Signing up for my new phone plan (old phone died, needed something new immediately - so signed up to a new Optus plan with a Note 5)
I got $100 google play store credit... some of that I've already used on a few Ingress purchases (anyone else play that?) but other than that I'm a bit stumped on what to use it for...

So I've got about $70 left... anyone got recommendations for 'paid' apps on the play store?

Subterfuge is a good game, free to download & try it out but about $10 to unlock the full game, I paid & recommend it.

The Shadowrun games if you're in to isometric top-down (light-)RPGs. You can even copy your saves to your computer and player there -- or vice versa. Since the saves are compatible, you can respec at any time using a char editor too, which is useful.

Only thing you lose vs PC is modding, but most of the mods suck anyway.

I beat both Returns and Dragonfall on my tablet; the experience was good fun.

Edit: Otherwise, a good premium anti-virus you can load onto all your devices would probs be my next buy.

I can't believe I forgot these were on droid. Dragonfall especially is a great game.

Make your own app and buy stuff in it :)

A guy on ozbargain made his own really basic android app with in app purchases. He was buying sim starter kits to use for a month and had a deal where you would get google credits to spend. By spending his google credit in his own app he converts ~%70 of his google money to actual money.

After the $20 (assuming USD) developer licence and Google's slice I think you'd wind up with enough for a bucket of kfc or a tank of fuel

To be honest I'm not sure, I played on an 8 inch screen, and it does require touch screen controls, so on a 5.7 incher... With the pen input it might be easier, though.

Look around for reviews playing it on a phone rather than tablet?

There's also the Baldur's Gate EE games on Android, as well as I believe Icewind Dale... but you know, fiddly infinity engine and small screen won't play nice.

X-Com Enemy Unknown also has an Android port.

You could pay for a premium emulator, too, to play gamegear, PSP or N64 or GBA or DS games.

Haha yeah. I did consider putting a warning in. I've actually had to stop myself playing. I became like a teenage girl checking my phone every two minutes

Me either. It's like playing an 8 player rts but because units move so slowly there's more emphasis on strategy & less on being super quick to zerg

Most of the time you don't actually have to check your phone every 2 minutes -- yet you still do, just in case... sometimes hours can pass by without needing your direct input. But then your TRAITOROUS FUCKHEAD of a neighbour launches an invasion on your territory when you're right in the middle of something at work, and you have to quickly excuse yourself to dash off to the men's room so you can spend the next 15 minutes issuing your orders in response.

ps. I was under the impression that it was effectively a "mobile sequel" to Neptune's Pride (which is made by a couple of ex-Irrational Games Australians) but it is in fact made by a completely different team, so basically a ripoff... but oh well :o

holy crap yes... always wondering where you should be redeploying your troops.. how to queue up future orders... unfortunately for me I made a ceasefire agreement with someone then forgot I had queued up an attack against them.. then was left with trying to decide whether to gift the troops or continue the invasion... already fighting a battle against someone with a crap load of factories and a tycoon... he's sending like 100 drillers my way in 5-10 mini attacks... oh well I guess I better upgrade my specialist to a general and watch those mini attacks do absolutely nothing muaahaha.. but still I have no way to stop this juggernaut of continually spawning drillers and eventually gang raping me... looking for an opportunity to take out his tycoon... need my ally to pick up his game. FUCK THIS GAME.

Honestly loving it but I can understand how you have to force yourself to stop... it's the last and first thing I do each day.. and regular checks through the day...

also.. dunno if I'll need to pay for the game as there's NO way I'd want to be playing simultaneous games!
