I have faith in opsayo and stork when it comes to getting the feel right and the core mechanics

LT players tend to be all over this stuff, seeing that from opsayo was good news, i saw jedics on that thread, hopefully he finds this game more to his tastes than TA

I am afraid of the toxicity of the Tribes community.
Die-hard t1-tards with blinkers on while tweaking ice - just put your own blinkers on and ignore :).

Anyways - as long as the cancer/toxicity is focussed internally between the players themselves and not at the game (once everyone plays it) is fine :).

tbf there was never really any overpowered/game changing sniper in TA
there were a few guys who changed games just from playing the class. neo and wack come to mind

When he says flags have a permanent iff - are we talking TA style hm.exe? I'd hope not. .. but that's what I'm guessing it means. ...

I kinda wanna play it. .. right now! I'm assuming there'll be a mortar (green egg launcher?) I also wonder what they'll do with heavies in regards to skiing. ...t1 gave you crazy speed/mobility, and TA put them at the other end of the spectrum. .. although the map size somewhat negated that (which also meant variety wasn't really a thing)

I'm also hoping they'll have skinning/mapping available too - that was a huge part of tribes imo, one that other mob decided against, to their own detriment.

didnt we beat you on your owner servers in your own country

lol ya we did

t1 is the only direction to go with this game if it is to be the rebirth of tribes

otherwise itll attract pub scum and no talent and die a quick death like all the others that werent t1

tony abott put you guys a decade back

dont let midair do it too :-) ty

Finally the other KoT graces the thread ;)

Actually I do somewhat agree with Dare, t1 as the base is always a success story waiting to happen

That being said I cant see anything these guys are doing that really moves away from t1, it looks a bit more t2c but it was based off t1 physics yes?

Inferior tribers lol, play some base and get back to us dare :P

Yep - t2c was pretty much a last ditch effort to try and get t1 players into t2. They did quite a good job of implementing faster movement without making the game unbalanced or half obsolete (e.g vehicles, medium armor were still useful)

It's a tough gig creating another tribes like game. If you cater to just the vets and create T1/T2c with better graphics, you'll end up with a very small elite community, which isn't sustainable. If you dumb the game down you'll end up with another T:A or T:V. I'm hoping that they will create something new and innovative rather than a carbon copy - its the only way I see it lasting more than just a few months.

A good sniper in T1 was cancer. Frustrating. But really - with 10 vs 10 clan matches - The O often had enough lee-way to work out strats against snipers or there were too many cappers and too little time to kill everyone + fog.

Of course sniping wasn't blatantly OP-hitscan ebola. I still think sniping had a place in t1 (can't really speak for t2 since I hardly played it).

According to Fire, who was at the event:
Wilderzone, Massive, and Icedance are the maps shown here. StealthRun I don't think is shown in this video.
