I think she did fucking fantastic This time last year she did her first 5k fun run and ran most of it but walked some, so she has come a long way.
Her next aim is to go sub 3hrs, perhaps at Byron Bay in a month or twos time.
I did the ride in a team, offical split was 1:22 but this includes transition time, the bike computer said 1:18 which I was pretty happy with.
Next up, Brisbane half marathon at the end of April. I just want to do that comfortably as a couple of injuries have fucked me over Was 4K into a 5K run last night doing about 4 1/2 min Ks when I rolled my ankle quite baddly.
Goal race is the Gold Coast half, not sure if I should be aiming for 90 or 100 mins, I will see how Brisbane goes and what training I get done.
How goes your training.....
I did Mooloolaba and Byron in a row when I first got into triathlon. I did 2.58 for Mooloolaba and in the 6 or so weeks to Byron, found some time and did a 2.42. The Byron course is heaps easier on the run and bike but is a much harder swim as it is an M shape. I was 8 (28 v 36) minutes slower in the swim at Byron but overall faster. I think the run is about 9kms as well. Plus I beat Duncan Armstrong. He got me back at the Gold Coast Marathon though by about 2 minutes. I use him as my yard stick as we are very similar body shape and height.
There are no officials on the bike course busting drafters and the pace lines get rediculous. Also it is not a closed bike and there are cars on the road so get her to be careful, I saw a guy get nocked off the road into the scrub by a bread truck. It was somewhat his fault but on a closed course, he would have been fine. The run ends with a 200m slight incline up to the finish and it is good to know this because the rest is mostly flat and noone wants to walk over the line.
Keep up the good work for Gold Coast. 4 1/2 is pretty zippy pace. I would expect that you would go closer to 90 if you are running your short stuff at that pace.
Personally my training is hit and miss. I am going to do the Gold Coast 1/2 IM in October and hope to get a Lottery slot for IMOZ at port Macquarie as i will not be fast enough for a straight qualification. My training plan starts 3rd week in June. Right now i am just riding to and from work but still getting fat. Too much beer and chips.
I expect many users will be right clicking and save as into their wank banks for this one. More dudes should wear lycra day to day.

A brother should really not wear such loose clothing for a marathon. I chaffed so bad it bled. I have my fuel belt on unser that shirt with a mobile, 2 gel flasks, GPS receiver and salt tabs. Makes me look hippy .
That's pretty good really, though if you are only running (rather than adding in swim and bike) you could probably do 10k in 35-40m. That would be a good level for a midfielder I'd think.just wondering cos i run 13k in 50m fairly easy, but i wanna work on my high intensity fitness for footy.
